I feel really depressed idk why I'm 16?

I have never had a guy that has had mutual feelings for me and. I now feel like maybe I should just give up? Never had a boyfriend and I see my friends with their bfs and I know it probably won't last forever but still. It makes me feel like there's something wrong with me. I'm not ugly but I'm shy. Should I just give up? What is there to look forward to?
